Eine derart drastische Strafe ist im Weltfußball durchaus kein Novum. Bereits 2009 wurde der FC Chelsea mit einem Transferverbot durch die FIFA belegt. Den Londonern wurde für ebenfalls zwei Perioden (Winter 2009/10, Sommer 2010) Transfers untersagt. Grund war der Wechsel von Gael Kakuta. Die Blues sollen den Youngster, der 2007 vom französischen Klub RC Lens gewechselt war, zum Vertragsbruch angehalten haben. Die Franzosen hatten dagegen Beschwerde eingelegt und schließlich durch die FIFA-Schlichtungskammer recht bekommen. Dagegen hatte Chelsea Einspruch vor dem CAS eingelegt und einigte sich letztlich mit Lens, sodass es nie zum Vollzug der Strafe kam
Bei Chelsea kam glaub ich noch dazu, dass Kakuta in Lens gar keinen gültigen Vertrag hatte, was sich eben aber erst nachher herausgestellt hat nachdem Chelsea Einspruch eingelegt hatte...

Liverpool FC confirms that Luis Suarez will be leaving the club after a transfer agreement was reached with FC Barcelona. The player now has permission to complete the usual formalities, which will then conclude the transfer.

There were rumors during this summer, that Gokhan Tore, the Besiktas
winger visited Calhanoglu's room one night during a national team camp
and put a gun to his head because they had some kind of old feud.
Besiktas officials and Tore's manager came out and denied it, while
Calhanoglu remained silent.
Last week, Tore was once again invited to the national team after
having been left out for a while, and Calhanoglu and Toprak excused
themselves claiming injuries. Then the rumors began once again, that
they didn't want to come because of Tore's inclusion despite what he had
done. Finally, journalists reached Calhanoglu's father, who confirmed
the rumors and said Terim knew all about it and he was very upset with
him for inviting a goon to the national team who had put a gun to his
son's head.
